    Abstract
    Pregnancy affects approximately 4% to 7% of all pregnant women. A urinary tract infection affects 8.8% of Indian pregnant women. UTI often begins in the sixth week and peaks between the 22nd and 24th week. Bacteriurea is found in 4% to 8% of all pregnancies without causing any symptoms. One to two percent of pregnancies are affected by pyelonephritis.
