Diabetes mellitus refers to a group of diseases that affect how your body uses
blood sugar (glucose). Glucose is vital to your health because it's an important
source of energy for the cells that make up your muscles and tissues. It's also
your brain's main source of fuel.
It is a disease of pancreas which is the part of liver.
The beta cells of lever secret thehormone insulin.
Insulin is responsible for the regulation of glucose. In the Diabetes, body is
unable to produce enough quantity of insulin.
Diabates is a group of metabolic disease in which a person has high blood sugar
level because the body does not produce enough insulin pr cells do not respond
to the body.
It is a global epidemic ausing a number of complications one of them sexual
dysfunction in males and female.
The epidemic ature of diabetes mellitus in different region is reviewed.
The middle east and north afric region has the higest prevalence of diabetes in
adults whereas,the western pacific region has the higst number of adults
diagnosed with diabetes.
The higest prevelance of diabetes (37.5%). Different classes of diabetes
mellitus,type 1, type 2, gestational diabetes and other types of diabetes.
The molecular genetics of diabetes received extensive attention in recent years by
manypromient investigators and research groups in the biomedical field.
